Riverside Fire & Police Assessment

The City of Riverside, Missouri, selected WSKF Architects to complete a comprehensive assessment of the public safety facility jointly housing the city’s police and fire operations. The facility is integrated into Riverside’s city hall campus. Since the opening of the public safety facility in 2006, both departments have undergone a number of changes affecting staffing, equipment, operations and administration to the point the facility ill-serves both agencies. WSKF’s scope includes determining space needs for both agencies, evaluating the existing facility for reconfiguration options, creating a conceptual design and corresponding costs. WSKF and engineering partners engaged key personnel in interview-style meetings to gain a full understanding of operational issues and constraints. The project also includes an assessment for ADA, building code, NFPA and OSHA compliance. The police review spans administration, uniform patrol, CID/investigation, evidence and property, dispatch, holding and support services. The fire assessment spans administration, apparatus bays, integration of EMS service, training/living quarters and support functions.
