Park University Nursing Program Renovation

This project began as a study to determine the feasibility of repurposing the original Hawley Hall dormitory for reuse to house the expanded Nursing School for Park University. The work included an in-depth code analysis looking at all aspects of the 2006 International Building Code. Working with the nursing school, WSKF designed space that meets accreditation standards and provides a skills laboratory that duplicates actual nursing conditions. The hall houses dedicated classroom space, a computer lab and faculty offices for the Nursing School. New energy-efficient windows were included as well as a new ramp and other accessibility improvements. The renovated Hawley Hall accommodates a student capacity of 65 and about a dozen faculty and staff members. The project spans 16,000 square feet on four floors.
