The City of Chillicothe selected WSKF Architects to design the new hangar the City developed to house LifeFlight’s new regional medical airlift base at the City airport. Site improvements include a new helipad, fueling station, back-up power generator, utilities and other infrastructure. The 7,113-sq-ft hangar houses a helicopter bay, mechanic’s work space, pilot and crew bunk space for five, kitchen, dining/lounge area, laundry/storage area, office and other support space. The bay mezzanine is designed to provide fitness space, storage and access to the roof. The design was developed in close collaboration with Chillicothe and LifeFlight leaders. The facility opened in the summer of 2017.
