Excelsior Springs School District Improvements

Districtwide student and staff safety as well as facility security were the motivators for the Excelsior Springs School District to propose a bond referendum. The District patrons endorsed the proposal and passed the bond issue providing front entry controlled access and facility “lock down” function for all six of the District’s schools, the Career Center and the newly acquired District Office. Security upgrades included: access control, CCTV cameras, monitors and recorders, and district-wide “lock down” functionality. All facilities are linked which allows administration the capability of viewing suspicious activity from any facility. The specified system will allow the District to expand the security within each facility districtwide. All of the work was completed with a focus on minimizing disruptions for students, faculty and staff.
