Lee’s Summit Fire Headquarters Renovation

Lee’s Summit Fire Station No. 1 had not undergone any major renovation since opening in the mid-1970s. With the station’s location in the City’s central business district, WSKF’s design sought to complement the new nearby City Hall, historic Missouri Pacific Railroad Depot and the overall downtown streetscape look and feel. WSKF designers squeezed the greatest value from the budget for the interior renovation spanning 15,000 square feet and the exterior of the building. The end result is a three-bay facility that provides all the functionality of a modern fire station while ensuring the station continues to be an important public asset in the heart of the community. Fire Chief magazine recognized the project in the Renovation category in its annual Station Style Awards.
