Thoroughbred Ford Expansion

The ownership family of this iconic Ford dealership invested in a major expansion and renovation to expand the showroom as well as add service bays and more space for collision repair. WSKF Architects served as the architect of record based on conceptual work by Gensler. The expanded showroom has more space for vehicle display as well as customer and sales staff interaction. To improve the service experience, a new enclosed write-up area was added adjacent to the service bays entrance. A 12,420-sf addition significantly expands service bays to accommodate a larger volume of service work and give service staff greater flexibility in handling everything from simple to more complex service needs. “It makes the service operation more productive overall,” explains Doug Boe, WSKF principal and project manager for the expansion. The Collision Center was also expanded with two new state-of-the-art paint booths, a new bay for writeup and inspection, and a waiting area for collision customers. The finished project is a case study in how thoughtful and rigorous design delivers on the owners’ vision for elevating the customer experience, improving service efficiency and branding.
