Linn County E-911 Board selected the design-build team of Copeland Construction and WSKF Architects for the county’s new E-911 facility. Our team worked with the E-911 Board to repurpose the original convent building on the campus of the closed St. Francis Hospital in Marceline to serve as the countywide central dispatch facility. WSKF’s design for the 3,760-square-foot facility includes space for four dispatch stations, an emergency operations center/multi-purpose room, staff sleeping rooms, locker room, office space and IT server room to accommodate the facility’s specialized needs for radio/communications equipment and infrastructure. The facility meets all FEMA 361 standards for structural ability to withstand extreme weather events. There’s also an outside enclosure to protect the generator providing back-up power for the building.
