Donations and Volunteering Make a Difference For Good Causes

WSKF Architects ended 2011 with a holiday food drive to benefit the Good Samaritan Center in Excelsior Springs, Mo. WSKF’s principals and employees donated two large boxes of canned vegetables, soups, pasta and other dry goods, tooth paste and other hygiene products.

Through WSKF’s longtime work and involvement in Excelsior Springs, we have come to know the tremendous difference the Good Samaritan Center makes in Excelsior Springs and a dozen rural communities across Clay and Ray counties.

In early November a team of WSKF Architects principals, employees and family members also volunteered as part of TeamSmile’s event at Arrowhead Stadium in partnership with the Kansas City Chiefs organization and players. TeamSmile brings together dentists, hygienists, dental students, equipment and other suppliers, other volunteers and athletes – all to benefit children who don’t otherwise have access to dental care.

During the Arrowhead event about 200 children from metropolitan Kansas City received free dental screenings and treatment.

“Both of these are worthy causes WSKF Architects and our employees are proud to support,” says Rick Kuhl, principal. “We see the social needs in the communities where we work and live. We always look for opportunities to make a difference through donations and volunteer efforts.”
