Barber Shop is One Small Step for Progress in KCK

Sometimes progress comes in small steps. One such small step is the recent opening of Jose’s World Wide Barbershop at 537 Central. The 1,300-square-foot family-owned barbershop and salon gives new life to a down-on-its-luck building.

WSKF Architects principal John Freshnock and project architect Dustin Watkins worked with Jose Montanez in renovating the building and meeting local code requirements.

“This is just one of the recent projects we are working on where we see business owners making a commitment in the form of buying or leasing space in and around Downtown Kansas City, Kan.,” Freshnock says. “It’s pretty exciting to see other businesses join us in putting down roots in Kansas City, Kan., and Wyandotte County.

WSKF serves a range of Kansas City, Kan., and Wyandotte County clients from its office in the historic Brotherhood Bank Building. We are members and actively involved in Downtown Shareholders, Kansas City Kansas Chamber of Commerce and Wyandotte Economic Development Council and the local Rotary Club. “We see our office and civic involvement as part of our responsibility to truly be part of the community if we are going to offer architectural services in KCK and Wyandotte County,” Freshnock adds.

Walk-ins are welcome at Jose’s.
